Booklet launch: Acequia Aqui––Mapping the Acequia Madre del Pueblo
October 15| Free
Acequia Aqui, the publication, will be off the press in July! Paseo Project will host a launch party sometime in October. The booklet celebrates and documents the traditional acequia systems found within the Historic District of Taos through visually illustrating the historic infrastructure.
Information gleaned from Acequias Aqui will provide strategies and visions to ultimately transform the acequia network with permanent artistic and informational installations and infrastructural enhancements. In partnership with the Acequia Madre del Pueblo, a free publication that creatively illustrates this vital community asset will be published. Acequias Aqui creates community dialog and creative place-making opportunities for the Historic District of Taos.
An open call for community suggestions on how to artfully express this cultural asset will be announced soon.
