A STEMarts Youth Workshop in the Classroom.
Paseo artist Cristopher Cichocki will work with 6th grade classroom at Taos Charter School in collaboration with the Taos Land Trust to elevate their connection to the environment through artistic and scientific investigations beyond the surface of everyday perception. The objective is to open a discussion that bridges the ecological past and future of the region. Students will explore the Taos wetlands through the critical lens of both science and art. Perspectives from Native American history and Masaro Emoto’s Hidden Messages in water will synthesize into works of art produced from microscopic specimens students extract from the Taos wetlands. The end results will be published in a hardcover book that showcases a selection of each student’s “element mandalas.”
