“Serenade” | Interactive Installation

Serenade is an immersive, interactive installation that reimagines the ancient art of the wind chime through the lens of contemporary technology. Consisting of six towering arches—each supporting six massive, touch-reactive chimes—Serenade invites visitors to step through thresholds of sound and light, transforming simple gestures into rich, multi-sensory experiences.

Each arch becomes a portal to a unique environment, blending LED animations with responsive audio. Some chimes evoke the crackle of a campfire, others shimmer with fluorescent glows or burst with the sound of breaking glass. As guests move through and interact with the chimes, they activate a dynamic layering of sounds and visuals, encouraging playful exploration while reflecting on the passage between memory and imagination.

About the artist: Kemper Sauce Studios is a Cincinnati based engineering and arts collective with an inventive drive and a whole list of bad ideas. Between our team members, we have professional level experience in construction, architecture, electrical engineering, lighting design, and hardware/software development. These skills give us the know-how to tackle big concepts and the experience to design from the ground up, allowing our pieces to feel truly unique by avoiding pre-packaged solutions. Our true passions are building fun things and tackling difficult problems. These installations allow us to do both, with extra sauce.
