ON SITE: The Artisans of Hotel Willa
ON SITE: The Artisans of Hotel Willa is the inaugural show at the new Gallery at Hotel Willa. This group show features a selection of contemporary artists who have had their hands in creating the new Hotel Willa, located at the former Indian Hills Motel. The exhibition shares the talent and skills of artists, artisans, and craftspeople who have helped shape the construction of Hotel Willa. The show not only includes the artists who contributed to the art located on the walls, but the artisans who contributed to the plumbing, security, restaurant, and the construction of the new 51 room hotel located just south of the Plaza at 233 Paseo Del Pueblo Sur.

The show includes work by Debbie Long, Sean Ratliff, Boramie Sao, Johnny Ortiz, Afton Love, Ky Sturges, Dawning Pollen Shorty, Paulina Ho, Aron John Dubous, Mark Kemper, Johnny DeFeo, Todd Wynward & Randy Martinez of TILT, Izumi Yokoyama, Abby Salsbury, and Dean Pulver. A detailed list of artists and their art can be found here.
“ON SITE is both a celebration and an acknowledgement,” says Paseo Project Director and curator of this inaugural show, J. Matthew Thomas. “When the hotel sent us the list of artists who contributed
art, we asked to also have a list of contractors who equally contributed to the making of the hotel. It was a great experience working with each of them to select works from their studios that honor who they are as an artist - as a creative person. This show shines a light on the inner artist in us all and invites viewers to consider all the ways they themselves create their environment.”
Hotel Willa, opening May 9, 2025, is a reimagined boutique hotel in Taos, New Mexico, transformed from the former Indian Hills Inn. After a five-year renovation led by the Casetta Group, the 51-room property blends Southwestern charm with modern design, featuring terracotta walls, wood-beamed ceilings, and local art throughout. The hotel introduces Juliette, a new restaurant created in collaboration with local duo SIEMPRE Design, offering a culinary experience that reflects the region's rich flavors. In partnership with The Paseo Project, Hotel Willa also hosts a 2,000-square-foot gallery and an Artist in Residence program, fostering a vibrant community for artists and guests alike. Beginning with this inaugural show, The Paseo Project will manage, curate and collaborate with the community in making the space a platform for local artists and creatives.
