You might not think, in persevering through 15-plus months of a global pandemic, there would be much of an art scene left here in Taos. We had our fair share of loss, isolation, and uncertainty, mixed in with feelings of spaciousness and solitude. I’ll admit, the work coming out of my own studio has been a struggle and yet has evolved.

From graffiti to the wheat-paste art of Banksy, street art takes on many iterations. Urban art brings color to the gray concrete of a place while providing a broader sense of identity. Most municipalities don’t know how to handle these urban expressions of public art in their communities – but the expressions persist nonetheless.
