PASEO 2024 STEAM DAY

The PASEO STEAM Day event will bring together over 250 students from seven different Taos County schools, ranging in age from 12 to 24 years old. STEAM Day includes 12 workshops and presentations by PASEO 2024 artists and partners located in Kit Carson Park, the PASEO 2024 location. Artists arrive early to set up their demonstrations prior to the festivals opening. Participating students are introduced to the concepts and creativity of the artwork prior to the event. Architects of Air: Daedalum

A 7,000 square foot inflatable Luminarium. The Daedalum takes its name from Daedalus. In Greek mythology he was the father of Icarus and the architect of the labyrinth of King Minos of Crete. Daedalumā€™s core element is a maze of 19 egg-shaped domes whose spatial arrangement creates mysterious sight-lines. Natalina

Earth: Garden of Future Sounds with Natalina Oliverioā€”Students will create physical art with motion and sound, building soundtracks and auditory experiences for the future

Dante Biss-Grayson

Digital Spirit Dancers with Dante Biss-Graysonā€”Students will explore the process of creating 3D holographic sculptures and learn about the technology behind digital holographic art.

Twirl

How do colors interact with each other? What are the colors we canā€™t even see? Join Twirl for color blending and light-bending adventures as we delve into the full spectrum with SPECTACOLOR! Explore why and how we see colors and how to makeā€¦ and change them.

Imagine Children's Museum

How can sound become visible?  Imagine Children's Museum will explore cymatics, the science of visualizing audio frequencies. Children will explore the relationship between sound, vibration, and ephemeral and permanent marks. Participants will explore tools and materials that activate marks inspired by different sounds.

STEMarts Lab

Join the AR Sky Hunt at Kit Carson Park! STEMarts Lab invites you to explore our interactive AR experience, featuring six QR code stations on the grassy field of Kit Carson Park. Point your phone to the sky to discover Space[AR]Tā€”artist and student-created animated objects that appear in the sky and land on the field in front of you. Capture the moment by snapping a photo or selfie with all six space objects.

The Harwood Museum: Cyanotypes with Claire Cote

Artist Claire Cote introduces sun-powered art to this workshop through Cyanotypes, a photographic printing process dating back to 1842. Known as "Sun Prints," Cyanotypes use sunlight to produce images in a unique dark turquoise-blue hue. The term "cyan" comes from the Greek word meaning "dark blue substance." In this workshop, students will have the opportunity to create their own art using this fascinating historical technique..

Community MatriX

The "Community MatriX" workshop is an immersive experience designed to engage participants with the themes of reflection, presence, and interconnectedness. It is created, built and managed by the Paseo 2024 Interns.   The workshop emphasizes the importance of letting go of the past, being present in the moment, and recognizing our collective connection.

Mindful Frontiers with Anne-Marie Emanuelli

This year, the theme of The Paseo festival is "Holding Space," inviting you to slow down and be present. Mindfulness practitioner Anne-Marie Emanuelli, Creative Director & Founder of Mindful Frontiers, guides students into the practice of mindfulness. Her workshop introduces the benefits of mindfulness and offers creative ways to incorporate these practices into your daily life through a variety of engaging experiences.

AI in Motion: The Dance of Artificial Intelligence

Join DanceWorX for a hands-on experience that brings artificial intelligence (AI) to life through dance! Dive into how AI works, from data input to real-time decision-making, as you help create live choreography on the spot.
