An immersive projection of tree forms generated from real-time text, twitter and archived data. The branches grow as their associated messages are displayed and float up. The audience participates by texting to create a branch. The archived data triggers branches from text derived from the Universal Declaration of Nature Rights signed into law by Ecuador. With each iteration the imagery becomes more chaotic until it becomes an abstraction of lines and particles, symbolizing both the physical destruction of nature, and the essential "nature" of all things being energy. Interactive nature and crowd sounds, also move from order to chaos.

About the artist: Agnes Chavez is an interdisciplinary, new media artist based in Taos, New Mexico. Since graduating from California College of Arts and Craft (now CCA) and studying holography in NYC, her work has been inspired by particle physics, nature and technology. Drawing is at the heart of Agnes’s art, yet always transformed by the emerging relationship between technology, science and nature. In her latest series, (x)trees, she collaborates with programmers to create algorithmic drawings generated from data and projected in real time on to buildings, exploring concepts from chaos theory and our culture’s dependance on messaging and mobile devices.

Alessandro Saccoia was born in Brescia, Italy in 1982. His work is based on his passion and understanding of the technologies related to music and interactivity. After having worked for both recording studios and for software houses on the development of audio solutions, he joined the IRCAM in Paris in 2010. Here he worked with the equipe Analysis-Synthesis of Sound for about two years. Now he lives in Berlin, where he works as a freelancer on a variety of projects, often in collaboration with other societies and artists. His extensive knowledge of music and video production and software development related to multimedia allow him to choose the best way to attain the best results.
