Spring Out 2022

May 6 & 7, 2022
Sunset to 10pm
Taos Plaza and Surroundings

The community was invited to the Taos Historic District for two nights, May 6 and 7, sunset to 10pm, for projections and performances. Centered around Taos Plaza, this free community event celebrated Mother’s Day weekend with the theme of flowers.

For 2022, four of Taos’ local museums presented works from their collections, projected upon the walls of our iconic adobe architecture. Participants included: The Harwood Museum of Art, Taos Art Museum at Fechin House, Couse-Sharp Historic Site, and the Millicent Rogers Museum. For 2022 we were excited to have the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum as well as regional artists, including Maria Samora.

The UNM Taos Art and Digital Media Department again participated, featuring student artwork and videos. And fresh for 2022, The Spring Out featured performances from Taos’ youth. Paseo Project’s Education Manager, Amber Vasquez, curated a series of events with Taos Highschool and DanceWorx, titled The Youth Voice Project. Youth artists ages 12-18 presented dance and spoken word inspired by public art dispersed among the downtown historic district, alongside the projected artwork featured over the weekend.

The Spring Out 2022 was generously sponsored by the LOR Foundation. With support from the Taos Community Foundation, Taos Mainstreet and the Taos Center for the Arts.
