Located within the newly reimagined Hotel Willa in Taos, New Mexico, The Gallery at Hotel Willa is a 2,000-square-foot exhibition space activated by The Paseo Project, a Taos-based nonprofit that champions community transformation through the arts. This gallery space is a vital part of Hotel Willa’s mission to celebrate the vibrant creative spirit of Taos while offering a unique cultural experience for visitors and residents alike.

On Site: The Artisans of Hotel Willa
May - July 2025
ON SITE: The Artisans of Hotel Willa is the inaugural show at the new Gallery at Hotel Willa. This group show features a selection of contemporary artists who have had their hands in creating the new Hotel Willa, located at the former Indian Hills Motel. The exhibition shares the talent and skills of artists, artisans, and craftspeople who have helped shape the construction of Hotel Willa. The show not only includes the artists who contributed to the art located on the walls, but the artisans who contributed to the plumbing, security, restaurant, and the construction of the new 51 room hotel located just south of the Plaza at 233 Paseo Del Pueblo Sur.

Josh Tafoya: Woven

Josh Tafoya is a textile artist born and raised in the American Southwest that works within the concepts of his Spanish, Genizaro, Chicano heritage. Furthering his home's traditional craft. A reflection of his New Mexican home’s rich textile history. Coming from a Ranching grandfather and a Weaving grandmother, brought him full circle. Infusing his knowledge of traditional Spanish loom weaving, with his experience in New York Fashion. Always exploring old and new techniques into his weaving's and garments, each taking ideas from the other influencing the process. Keeping old traditions alive, and furthering a continuing conversation of New Mexican heritage and craft. A new vision of “American Fashion” and a reclamation of the “Southwestern Look”.
