PASEO 2024 in the DAYTIME!

This year’s festival will be held during the daytime, from midday until sunset, including two nights of Silent Disco!
Over four days, a schedule of events will center around the Luminarium in Kit Carson Park.
This year The PASEO tightens its partnership with the Taos Center for the Arts, with special indoor events and activities, including hands-on workshops, films, and presentations in the theater.
PASEO 2024 is holding space…
Holding space is a practice that involves being fully present and creating a safe, nurturing environment for someone else. Holding space is also a function of architecture, inflatables, and the PASEO 2024’s centerpiece, DAEDALUM.
Looking back at ten years of PASEO has inspired us to think about what kind of spaces we make with this festival. What might hold space for our community? We’ve been thinking a lot about how to counter all the stresses of daily life, the never-ending news cycle, the constant messaging and busyness. Can the festival create an experience apart from all that? What might really nourish and nurture people, in a creative way?”
Enter the Luminarium…
slow down into a peaceful respite and an escape into a new reality
The main attraction for PASEO 2024 is a 7,000 square foot inflatable Luminarium. Titled, “Daedalum,” it takes its name from Daedalus. In Greek mythology he was the father of Icarus and the architect of the labyrinth of King Minos of Crete. Daedalum’s core element is a maze of 19 egg-shaped domes whose spatial arrangement creates mysterious sight-lines. The Main Dome features an innovative indirect illumination that varies the color inside according to the dome’s position and the sun’s direction. The 600-piece pattern of the Main Dome ceiling was inspired by Rome’s Pantheon and the Gustave Doré drawing of angels circling heavenward in Dante’s paradise.
A luminarium is a sculpture people enter to be moved to a sense of wonder at the beauty of light and color. Since 1992 over 3 million visitors in more than 40 countries across 5 continents have immersed themselves in the spectacular and luminous world of Architects of Air.
